05/25/17 07:55 On intake, Padima allowed counselor to pick him up out of the carrier and place him onto the counter for collaring and pictures. He stayed laying down and allowed counselor to pet his head and collar him. He laid still for pictures but kept moving his head around the room. When counselor presented the new carrier Padima walked right in.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Curious MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 5/23/17- Observed Behavior – shy but sweet; allows handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 5/24/17- Otitis externa. In top cubby, pressed to back wall behind litter box, eyes dilated, tense. Leaned slowly away when door opened, then held immobile when pet and started lip licking. 5/25/17- At back of cubby, eyes dilated, resting chin in litter box. Lay in place when door opened, held immobile when pet, occasional lip licking. Showed no interest in treats. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Padima remains tense, crouched position at the back when approached. Reaction to door opening: Padima gazes at the assessor and stiffens up with ears flat and sideways. Reaction to touch: Padima accepts the stroke while his pupils dilate and hisses as he began to lip lick in place. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Padima may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
