Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Ozymandias is shy for days around strangers. She lived with a 10 year old child. She was affectionate and playful with the child. She plays in a gentle manner with kids and adults. She lived with a 1 year old female cat. She was affectionate and playful with this cat. They played in a gentle manner. She has never lived or spent time with dogs. She has never bitten or scratched a person or animal. Reaction to assessor: Ozymandias comes to the front of the cage – soliciting attention, rubbing against the cage front, and meowing. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ozymandias stays at the front of the cage – soliciting attention, rubbing against the cage front, and meowing. Reaction to cage door opening: Ozymandias remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Ozymandias initially solicits petting and attention – staying at the front of the cage and rubbing against the assessor’s hand – but appears to become agitated by increased noise levels in the room. She begins to stress meow, then hisses, retreats, and swats at the assessor’s hand without claws. Behavior Determination: Experienced, no children Ozymandias tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
