Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Name and A#: A1104262 Outer Space Date: 2/26/2017 KNOWN HISTORY: Outer Space came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat. Reaction to assessor: Outer Space is hiding in his den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Outer Space continues to hide. Reaction to cage door opening: Outer Space shifts to the opposite end of the den, ears flat. Reaction to touch: Outer Space allows a few strokes, then swats at the assessor and hisses. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: nervous, tense, resist the exam, net used and limited exam ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Skittish RECOMMENDATIONS: _x_ Placement with a New Hope partner POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: _x_ Fearful Behavior observations _x_ New Hope Only Outer Space is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
