KNOWN HISTORY: Otto Rocket was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Easily handle able and easy to pick up. Did well for all medical handling and procedures EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Otto Rocket was crouched and looking out at his surroundings at the front of the cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Otto Rocket glances over at the assessor and meows softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Otto Rocket moves away and curls up near the back of the cage. Reaction to touch: Otto Rocket seems a little hesitant and lowers his head when the assessor extends his hand out. He slow blinks and accepts gentle petting on his head and body, but remains curled up in the back of the cage. Reaction to being picked up: Otto Rocket is tense when picked up and tries to wiggle out of the assessor’s hand. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid Please note that Otto Rocket is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced cat parent – Otto Rocket may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
