09/21/17 17:26 Basic information: Osiris is a 1 year old all black neutered male domestic short hair cat. He was returned to MACC due to his health. During intake: Osiris allowed handling and permitted the admissions counselor to transfer him to a different carrier. He lay on his side when the admissions couselor was collaring him. He was headbutting the admissions counselor. No further handling was used because he had a lot of nasal discharge.

KNOWN HISTORY: Osiris was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on his behavior history of tendencies in a home environment. He backed away from the counselors when approached during intake and hissed when they attempted to collar him. He remained by the back and did not allow too much handling, but allowed the counselor to scratch him behind his ears and pet him. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Behavior: Allows handling but tense and bothered by animals in room (hisses at carriers), bunny kick for combo test. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Osiris was resting, curled up inside his cubby. Reaction when softly spoken to: Osiris took some time to wake up, but he looks at the assessor with soft eyes while lying down upside-down. Reaction to cage door opening: Osiris gets up right away and greets the assessor by the opening. Reaction to touch: Osiris head-butts and begins to purr. He starts to knead, leans in for more petting, and nuzzles against the assessor. Reaction to being picked up: Osiris is a bit tense during pick up, but remains calm when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Curious BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Osiris interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
