06/03/18
Lying in litterbox, body low and pupils dilated. Tolerates petting along head and body while turning head to watch my hand and licking lips. Shifts weight. Needs some time to adjust.
06/04/18
Lying in litterbox, body low and pupils dilated. Ears are forward. She leans towards me as I reach forward and accepts slow and gentle petting while leaning in. Turns her head to give my hand a gentle head-butt, then licks lips. Curious and sweet but unsure. Needs some time to gain confidence and warm up. Begins to eat treats after I’ve closed the kennel door.
06/05/18
Lying in litterbox, body low and eyes wide. Pupils are dilated. Raises head and looks around the room as kennel door opens. Tolerates petting along head and body while turning head to watch my hand, eye remaining wide. Begins to lean in and rolls over onto her side. Scent marks litterbox with cheeks. Sweet girl, appreciates attention once approached. Needs more time to adjust.
06/06/18
Crouched in litter box, ears forward and eyes wide. Pupils are dilated. She vocalizes softly as the kennel door opens and steps forward to greet my hand with a head-butt, body low and tail half raised. Leans in for petting and allows touch along head and body while raising tail higher and rolling over onto her side. Scoots forward to nudge my hand. Very sweet – doing better! Beginning to come out of her shell.
06/07/18
Lying down in her litter box. Slow blinks when I call her name, and comes forward slowly. Sniffs hand and brushes up for attention. Tail rises up, appreciates attention. Enjoys tuna, did a little clicker training and rewarded when she solicits attention. Doing good , but walks away when she’s had enough contact.
06/09/18
Hunched over in the back of the kennel, behind kuranda bed/blanket. Just moved into room 6, still adjusting. Comes forward when coaxed. Sniffs hand, then leans in for cheek rubs. A bit wary of surroundings, possibly due to dogs barking across the hall. Appreciates attention. Enjoys Party Mix treats.
06/11/18
Lying in back of kennel, ears forward and eyes alert. She stands up and steps to the front of her kennel as I begin opening the kennel door, sniffs my hand through the door curiously with ears forward. Allows all petting while leaning in with energy and raising tail. Purrs. Tail becomes pilo-erect with continued petting so I end the session and give her some treats. Excited –may be showing signs of overstimulation. Sweet girl – showing improvement!
06/12/18
Lying down at the back of the cage, but perks up and comes forward when I approach. Her eyes widen and she gently rubs her cheeks against the cage door. Tail erect, leans in and gives head butts. Much more confident and outgoing. Food motivated- eats party mix treats/tuna. Doing well!
