OREO is a 4 month old kitten who was found sick and brought to the shelter. He has a URI and conjunctivitis, and is dehydrated and may have flea anemia. Has a good appetite. Needs rescue asap.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/09/2017 from NY 10460, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

08/10/2017 Exam Type RE-EXAM – Medical Rating is 4 C – SEVERE CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 2.8 LBS.
Hx: dehydrated, underweight, flea anemia and severe URI on intake S/O no signficant appetite QAR unsocialized, more energy today, resists handling somewhat mm pk, sl tacky-significantly improved from yesterday no nasal discharge noted today OU-mild to moderate blepharospasms initially was eupnic but had increased inspiratory effort after being handled quiet lung sounds diffusely with mild referred upper airway congestion soft abdomen A URI-improving increased inspiratory effort-r/o poss pneumonia vs other underweight P add amoxiclav 47.5 mg/ml: 0.4 ml PO BID x 10 days cerenia 0.1 ml SQ SID x 3 days if not eating, then force feed prognosis: fair, concern for pneumonia due to severity of URI on intake; URI is improved and mm are much pinker but breathing is more labored; may need sedation for radiographs and he becomes stressed with added handling so will treat more aggressively for poss early pneumonia; radiographs if breathing worsens or fails to improve through the day

08/09/17 12:25 During Intake: Oreo had a relaxed body posture. His eyes were semi dilated and ears forward. He would shake his head gently when the admissions counselor attempted to collar. His tail was curved to his side and static. He laid in the far rear of the carrier.
