07/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Opie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Opie was relaxed on his blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Opie makes eye contact and slow blinks at the assessor he but doesn’t come forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Opie inches away slowly. Reaction to touch: Opie sniffs the assessor’s hand; gives light head butts and allows petting all over. He lifts his head up and leans in for cheek rubs but remains at the back. When attempting to pick him up he becomes very tense and stretches out his paws trying to stay in the kennel. Behavior Determination: Experience Opie may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
