***SAFE 07/25/17***FIVE YEARS OLD..SPAYED AND GENTLE…Omaha and 2 housemates, Reno and Deltona (not listed tonight) lost their home when owner died. They are confused and just had their lives turned upside down. Omaha has a URI and needs rescue asap. Please consider adopting one or more of these kind kitties.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/18/2017 from NY 10467, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER DIED. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-104688.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Steady VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Independent ENRICHMENT NOTES: 7/19/17 URI, conjunctivitis. Resting on bedding, eyes dilated, looking around, tense. Flinched and leaned away from pets, then froze. 7/20/17 Resting at back, eyes dilated, tense and wary. Became alert when door opened, lifted head, whiskers forward. Lay in place and tolerated pets, but leaned away. Seemed uncomfortable with surroundings. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Omaha remains tense, tucked limbs at the back of the cage during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Omaha lip licks, alert with eyes dilated, ears erect and forward. Reaction to touch: Stiffens up with eyes wandering her surroundings while she accepts the touch with no interest. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Omaha may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
