SAFE 2/7/17 Olivia is one of the senior kitties cleared from quarantine and needs placement! She was brought to ACC because her owner is moving and unable to keep her. As per the owner, Olivia has lived well with other kitties.

S/O: QARH. Nervous, allowed all handling. Ate small amount of wet food. Normal urine. BCS 3/5
EENT: Missing all teeth, nuclear sclerosis OU, no ocular or nasal discharge, ears wnl
H/L: Normal thoracic auscultation
ABD: Normal abdominal palpation
M/S : Ambulatory x 4, no apparent lameness
A: Geriatric, missing all teeth
P: Continue to monitor while at BACC. Good prognosis

Arrived from same home in K16-084108. Hunched on blanket, legs tucked under, head down, scared. Allows petting all over, stays motionless. Needs time. Gave some wet food and sprayed Feliway.
BASIC INFORMATION: Olivia is a Black/white DSH female 12yr old cat. She was found as a stray and has no known health issues. Olivia has been surrendered to ACC due to owner moving to a home that does not allow pets.
SOCIALIZATION: Olivia is unbothered by strangers and is tolerant when strangers pet her. She has been exposed to children and appears to be fearful of them. She may run and hide. She has lived with adults and plays gently with them. Olivia has resided with other cats and she gets along well with cats. Olivia has not bitten or scratched another animal or person within the past 10 days.
BEHAVIOR: Olivia is tolerant of brushing her coat & trimmed her nails. When Olivia is asleep and is disturbed she is unbothered by it.
FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Olivia is best described as an affectionate & friendly cat. She has a medium activity level. Olivia enjoys playing with laser pointers. When owner is home, Olivia follows owner around the house. Olivia would do best in a family or single person home. She has been kept indoors only. She enjoys sleeping on cat bed or a chair. Olivia eats wet and dry food, Olivia is litter box trained. She uses a hooded litter box and uses clumping or clay litter.
BEHAVIOR UPON INTAKE: Olivia appeared to be relaxed in the carrier. Once Olivia was taken out of carrier and became shy & displayed a low tense body. After counselor handled carefully she allowed all handling & scanned negative.
