***SAFE 11/03/17***HANDSOME TEN YEAR OLD OLIVER WAS DESCRIBED BY HIS FORMER OWNER AS “FRIENDLY, MELLOW & TALKATIVE” BUT ENDED UP AS NEW HOPE ONLY….Oliver was brought to us because his owner is moving. Staten Island Center
Hello, my name is Oliver. My animal id is #10355. I am a desexed male white cat at the Staten Island Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 10 years old. –
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 21-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- landlord won’t allow.
Oliver 10355 is at risk for behavior concerns (New Hope Only behavior determination). His previous owner reports he is fearful around strangers and will hide from them until he is comfortable. He displays distance-increasing behavior while in the care center and does not currently allow touch; he will hiss, growl, and swat when petting is attempted. We recommend placement into an adult-only home through a New Hope partner. Medically, Oliver is geriatric and obese.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
