08/02/17 18:07 Basic information: Olive is a 5 yr old cat who was gotten here from ACC and was kept in the same home since for the past 4 years. Unfortunately due to moving to a another country she could not be kept. Se was last brought to the vet in march for vaccinations. Socialization: Around strangers and children Olive is described friendly/outgoing, relaxed and respectful and plays somewhat rough but mostly gentle with both adults and children. She has never been socialized with dogs or cats and there’s no records of him ever biting another animal or person. Behavior: Olive will meow a lot when she is hungry and during car rides. You will struggle with Olive when attempting to give her a bath or trim her nails but she enjoys being brushed and is unbothered with being picked up, being placed in a carrier and being disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Olive is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, independent, talkative, shy and somewhat fearful. She has a medium activity level, enjoys belly rubs, will follow you around when home with you, enjoys playing with balls, strings and catnip toys. She has been kept mostly indoors, prefers to sleep on her own bed, ate Friskies dry food 2x a day, is considered litter box trained, prefers a covered litter box with clumping litter and likes a scratching post made of cardboard. Itake: Upon intake Olive allowed all handling, being collared, having her picture taken and being placed in a crate.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 8/3/17- Observed Behavior – shy, allows exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 8/3/17 Curled up behind litter box, eyes dilated. Sat up when door opened, seemed wary. Sniffed assess-a-hand, ate offered treats, but leaned away from touch. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Olive remains neutral, lying down with head up at the back of the cubby during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Olive remains in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Olive seems reluctant with her surroundings, but when spoken to softly she began to knead in place and slowly engage. She accepts the touch, but draws back and prefers to stay in the cubby where she is most comfortable. Reaction to being picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Olive interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
