ODIE – A1078548
Gone - 7-8-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 07/08/16*** PRETTY GRAY KITTEN NAMED ODIE IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY AND BECAUSE SHE IS A LITTLE AFRAID, SHE WILL DIE!! ODIE is a weird name for a girl but we all see how much “care” is put into giving cats nice names and taking good photos. Yep, you can take that word “care” right out of the equation. ODIE is a 1 year old kitten who was coaxed into a carrier by someone who brought her into the shelter. She allowed handling but is nervous and tense and who could blame her? ODIE got an EXPNOCHILD rating and a trip to the euth list. She is NOT on the public adoption site and you MUST use a rescue to pull her. This gorgeous kitty is longing for love and a special purrson who will give her a home and the time and patience she needs to relax. IF THAT IS YOU – AND YOU HAVE SOME CAT WHISPERING SKILLS – PLEASE USE THEM TO SAVE ODIE FROM AN UNTIMELY DEATH TOMORROW. KITTENS DESERVE TO HAVE HAPPY HOMES AND ODIE NEEDS YOU NOW.

07/05/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Odie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The enrichment facilitator has been monitoring Odie and reports that she hesitant of contact but tolerated petting with a tense body. Over time she slowly became more comfortable with contact but she’s still unsure and will stress meow when interacting with her. Reaction to assessor: Odie was curled up in her litter box at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Odie’s eyes widen and she starts lip licking while looking around the kennel. Reaction to cage door opening: Odie remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Odie starts stress meowing and retreats as you approach her. She tolerates petting but her body is tense and she turns her head towards the wall trying to avoid contact. Her body is pressed up against the back wall and she continues to stress meow throughout the entire interaction. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Odie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
