I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/02/2016 from NY 10309, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-068217.

Nutmeg came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Nutmeg was nervous and attempted to flee. Reaction to assessor: Nutmeg is sitting in the back of her cage, body neutral. Reaction when softly spoken to: Nutmeg remains motionless. Reaction to cage door opening: Nutmeg seems tense. Reaction to touch: Nutmeg shifts away to avoid touch, ears flat, but allows some petting. Reaction to pick up: Nutmeg is nervous during this type of handling and immediately jumps out of assessor’s arms. Placement Determination: Experience Nutmeg does not approach the assessor and appears fearful, but allows petting and handling. Nutmeg is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents.
