Hello, my name is Noir. My animal id is #14497. I am a female white cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 8 years old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 24-Nov-2017.
Noir is at risk due to being diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Infection which is contagious to other cats. Noir will likely require in home care with a course of antibiotics. There are no behavior concerns for Noir at this time, average determination.

[LVT Intake Exam] Microchip Scan: negative, placed 981020023360164 Evidence of Cruelty: no Observed Behavior: allows all handling, somewhat tense Sex: intact female Estimated Age: Subjective: cat with possible URI (sneezing, congested, moist dermatitis on bridge from rubbing face) and fleas, polydactyl (6xtoes on front feet) Eyes: slight ocular d/c Ears: heavy waxy d/c but easily cleaned Oral Exam: missing several teeth including upper and lower canines on left side, gingivitis Heart: WNL Lungs: WNL Abdomen: WNL Musculoskeletal: WNL BCS 5/9 Mentation: QAR, slight dehydration Preliminary Assessment: possible URI, older cat Plan: DVM intake
Patient did not receive Rabies vaccination due to health condition upon intake (DVM exam 11/25/2017). Vaccination has been scheduled when patient’s condition is improved as per DVM.

MSI: very weak, unkempt haircoat, dirty no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: dull and dehydrated, weak Rectal: na Assessment: 5-8 yr fi(?) cat- weak, dehydrated, uri, conjunctivitis, poor body and coat condition Prognosis: good w/ appropriate tx Plan: sqf but may need iv if no response cerenia 0.25 cc sq sid nebulize w/ 0.25 cc gentocin bid doxycycline 0.45cc po sid x 10 days terramycin bid ou x 7 days recheck tomorrow to see if eating at all SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to severe uri and body condition
Presented with URI/conjunctivitis, started on SQF, cerenia, doxycycline and terramycin S/O -QDR -minimal appetite -mucoserous nasal discharge, congestion -OU: moderate conjunctivitis -mm pk, tacky -eupnic, quiet lung sounds -unthrifty hair coat A URI/conjunctivitis P -dexamethasone SP 4 mg/ml: 0.25 ml SQ -continue other medications -recheck tomorrow, if no improvement, then recommend IVF
Severe URI, inappetance, significant congestion; given dexamethasone injection yesterday S/O -QAR but appears more interactive than yesterday, stands up in cage when approached -good appetite! -mild hypersalivation -significant nasopharyngeal congestion but improved; only mild serous nasal discharge today, some litter stuck on nose -OU: moderate blepharospasm, elevated 3rd eyelid, serous discharge but less than yesterday; crusting epiphora along sids of nose -eupnic, referred upper airway noise A URI/conjunctivitis, severe, improving Inappetance-resolved P extend cerenia, SQF and nebulization through 11/29

During intake Noir was a cautious of coming out of the carrier, but once out Noir did attempt to hide back into the carrier. Noir accepted all handling, did not mind picked up or pet.

Reaction when softly spoken to:: Noir continues to lay in place and look at the assessor.

Reaction to touch:: Noir allows a touch, then warms up and leans into the stroke and begins to purr.
