04/30/17 14:00 Noel was quiet in his carrier during intake. He allowed the counselor to pet him, collar, and scan him. Noel was a little hesistant leaving his carrier, hung his body low to the ground, and walked back in his carrier.

KNOWN HISTORY: Noel was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Shy, easy to handle ENRICHMENT NOTES: 05/02/17 Lying in back of kennel with a low body. He makes eye contact when spoken to and tolerates gentle petting along his head and body with wide eyes, looking around the room. Nervous and unsure – sprayed feliway. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Noel was relaxed and lying down near the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Noel meows softly and slowly leans forward to investigate. Reaction to cage door opening: Noel remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Noel sniffs the assessor’s hand then rolls over on his side. He stays in place, gives gentle head butts and allows petting all over his body. He occasionally tenses up and focuses when he hears a loud noise or when someone walks by. Reaction to being picked up: Noel was a bit tense when picked up and tried to wiggle out of the assessor’s arms. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Easy going BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average – Noel interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
