***SAFE 06/13/16*** PAIR OF HEALTHY ONE YEAR OLD KITTENS – WINKIN AND NOD – ARE GOING TO DIE ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID! AND NOD IS PREGNANT! How sad that someone trapped these two youngsters, who are both the same age and most likely siblings!! Rather than finding them homes, this person just dumped both WINKIN and NOD at the ACC not caring what became of them. NOD is a girl and is PREGNANT!! She was allowing some petting but the poor girl was shaking from being touched with the assessor’s fake plastic hand!! WINKIN did not want to be touched but was no way shape or form aggressive or defensive. Both kitties just wanted to hide and run. So as punishment in ACC form – WINKIN got a NEW HOPE only rating and NOD got a EXPNOCHILD rating and a trip to tonight’s euth list. We know that these babies – 1 year old babies – are only shy and need a special cat purrson to take them in and let them learn to trust. NOD so far escaped the ACC’s cruel spay aborting although it was recommended on her notes. WE NEED A HERO HERE FOR THESE TWO SWEET CATS! IF YOU CAN FOSTER YOU WILL SAVE THEIR LIVES. IF YOU CAN ADOPT THAT IS BETTER. BUT DO SOMETHING – DON’T LET THEIR LIVES BE SNUFFED OUT FOR NO GOOD REASON. WHAT’S THE POINT OF TAKING A DAY OFF FROM EUTH IF YOU WILL GO BACK TO YOUR OLD WAYS BY KILLING PERFECTLY HEALTHY KITTENS? EMAIL [email protected] NOW FOR RESCUE INFO TO SAVE WINKIN AND NOD!!

06/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Nod was brought in as stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was found in basement in a building with another cat. She was very fearful during her initial medical exam and tolerated little handling, attempting to flee. The enrichment facilitator reports she was curled up by the back and avoid contact during her first day. She started tolerating petting the following day, but faces the wall and has wide eyes. Reaction to assessor: Nod was squeezed by the back corner and appears tense, looking at the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction when softly spoken to: Nod averts her gaze momentarily, and then looks back at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Nod remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Nod sniffs the assessor’s hand, and then ducks her head and accepts touch. She starts shaking and remains immobile during the interaction. After a moment, she turns her head to face the cage wall. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Nod tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
