ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Curious ENRICHMENT NOTES: 7/18/17- Resting on bedding at back, eyes dilated, alert. Started tail flicking on approach, but stood and came immediately to the front when door opened, tail up. Leaned and arched into pets, purred, started eating dry food and treats. Posture softened significantly, eyes became less dilated. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Niomi remains neutral, relaxed resting on her cage bedding during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Niomi engages the front with tail slightly down tip curved, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Niomi head bunts the assessor’s hand and purrs during the stroke, but a bit cautious when she hears sudden noises then distance increases with eyes wide open. She then comes back after a few seconds and solicits attention. Reaction to being picked up: Niomi allows briefly to be held but then jumps back into the cage. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Niomi interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
