NIcki is 13 years old and is very sweet and easy to handle. She is hoping to be adopted to a furever home where she can spend the rest of her golden years!

KNOWN HISTORY: KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: Adults Behavior toward strangers: Shy at first but warms up after she adjusts Behavior toward children: Unknown Behavior toward cats: Unknown Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Mellow, shy and aloof with a low activity level. Other notes: She doesnâ€™t mind being picked up or being put in a carrier. Enjoys playing with ball toys. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Very sweet. Easily handle able. Did well for all medical handling and procedures Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Nicki was tense and hissed when the assessor approached her kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Nicki lip licks then turns her head away and avoids eye contact. Reaction to cage door opening: Nicki becomes alert and focused. Reaction to touch: Nicki tenses up and starts to grumble when the assessor extends his hand out. She squints and tolerates gentle petting on her head as long as you go slowly. The end of her tail starts to flick with every stroke but she doesn’t display any further reaction. After a few soft pets she tilts her head for rubs, nuzzles up and gives head butts. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet Timid POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: None BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Experienced, adult only Behavior Asilomar TM – Treatable-Manageable RECOMMENDATIONS: None BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Nicki tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
