Behavior:: Average
Nessy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home.
Reaction to assessor: Nessy was lying down on his blanket near the back and makes eye contact with the assessor.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Nessy leans forward to sniff the assessor then rolls over on his side.
Reaction to cage door opening: Nessy is calm and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Nessy sniffs the assessor’s hand and slowly comes forward with his tail at body level. He leans against the assessor’s hand allowing petting all over his body and will occasionally lip lick. His body is relaxed and he lightly head butts for attention. After a few soft passes he tried to walk out the kennel to explore his surroundings.
Reaction to being picked up: Nessy remains calm when picked up and allows all handling.
Behavior Determination: Average
Nessy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

Low body posture; appears fearful. Allows all touch, however, and was tolerant of handling; seemed to appreciate attention. Interested in treats; kneaded in place a little bit. Has potential to warm up; very sweet.

Still low body posture when I first approached cage (but she was in a pop-up on the floor), but immediately comes forward for attention. Leaned in for petting. Allows all petting and handling; easily picked up and held in lap, petting all over. He seemed to love the attention, purring. He did try to bolt from cage when I returned short while later to see was doing, not out of fear but to explore/seek attention, so should be careful when opening her cage. Has warmed up tremendously. Very sweet cat!

Doing really well, will be going to Adoptions. Sleeping in litter box, calm and relaxed, but comes right up when you give attention. Leans in for more petting, enjoys the attention. Does seem as if he’d like to get out to explore the room on her own, so mind the cage door! A beautiful cat and a real sweetheart!
