01/30/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/30/16 14:03 Basic Info: Nena A0735807 is a 10yr old spayed female brown tabby who was adopted from our facility 8yrs ago and is being surrendered due to the owner moving out of the state. Nena was last seen at a veterinarian over 2yrs ago and currently has no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Around strangers Nena will hide until they leave. She lived with a 2yr old that played roughly with Nena and Nena was “amazing” with her in spite of being chased, grabbed & squeezed. Nena hasn’t lived with other animals however when she spotted a neutered male feline neighbor here at the BXAC they began to hiss/growl at each other. Nena hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Nena scratches on shoes and on furniture due to no longer having a scratching post because she destroyed one years ago. During car rides she’ll meow/cry. Nena hasn’t been bathed, had her nails trimmed, been brushed or been disturbed while sleeping/resting. Nena doesn’t mind being placed into a carrier or with being picked up/held but will attempt to get away/jump from your arms after a few minutes. For A New Family to Know: Nena is described as friendly, affectionate, playful (at times), mellow, assertive, shy (when there’s a lot of people around) and quiet with a medium activity level. The owner likes how very friendly & affectionate Nena is. Nena loves to run around the home at night while everyone sleeps. When the owner is home Nena will follow them around. She used to play with mouse & ball toys but now will play mostly with hair ties she finds. Nena is an indoor only cat who sleeps on the couch or floor and eats Friskies wet cat food and Deli Cat dry cat food 2-3x a day. Nena is hooded litter box trained with clay litter (previously) now clumping litter within. Intake Behavior: Nena allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of including positioning her during her photo session. However she & her male feline neighbor could still hear each other which might have annoyed Nena, but we managed to capture a shot of her where she isn’t hissing at him. Nena was then picked up/held with a towel and placed into her kennel.
02/09/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Well, this must be one loyal kitty. Her former family said she hid from strangers, but now that she’s here, she seems very outgoing. She likes attention, head butting and generally parading around her condo showing off her lovely stripes. She’s ready to bring joy and comfort to a new family home. Another volunteer writes: Nena is so tall she can barely stand all the way up in her spacious kennel. She’s a beautiful grey tiger girl, who’s very gentle and truly elegant. She’s ten years young, making her a wise and mature lady, and one who has many more years to grace your home with her loveliness.
