Upon intake, Neil was not handled. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: nervous and tense, tries to flee EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Neil is hiding in his den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Neil looks at the assessor with wide eyes, tense. Reaction to cage door opening: Neil looks for an exit. Reaction to touch: Neil moves away and attempts to flee cage, tolerates but avoids handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish, Independent POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: – Fearful RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced, adult home only – Placement with a New Hope partner Behavior observations _x_ Experienced, Adult Only Neil tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children.
