SAFE 1/16/18 NATASHA is a 5 month old kitten who was left in a church. She has painful paws possibly from abuse but further medical eval is needed to determine the cause. Please consider helping this cutie pie.

Observed Behavior – Even with very painful paws
Evidence of Cruelty seen – possible
Evidence of Trauma seen – all 4 paws

EENT: Eyes clear, no nasal or ocular discharge noted AD pinna tip hard and severe crusted otitis AU
Oral Exam: all adult dentition present
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: Tachycardia, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: FI, no obvious spay scar or tattoo when clipped
MSI: All 4 paws swollen (nails intact) avulsion of pads w/ adhered kitty litter and mod inflammation of subq skin, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, rough coat-no obv fleas
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment: Trauma and swelling x 4 paws r/o mechanical trauma, thermal or chem trauma.
Underwgt r/o nutritional, dz
Otitis r/o ear mites +/- other
Prognosis: good to guarded pending response to tx
Plan: CBC/Chem
Warm compress to remove litter then alt litter, rec clean with chlorhex and apply SSD
Simbadol 0.18 ml sq sid x 3 days
Onsior pending blood test
Ear clean
Tresaderm 3 drops au bid x 3 weeks
Clavamox 0.3 ml po bid x 7 days and re-assess
SURGERY:
Temporary waiver due to resolution/improvement in paws. If anesth for other procedure spay at same time.
