I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 06/30/2017 from NY 10473, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

07/05/2017 Exam Type RE-EXAM – Medical Rating is 4 NC – SEVERE CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 5.3 LBS.
Hx: Admitted as stray 6/30, finder reported seeing kids hiting her wih sticks. Initial epistaxis, rads performed – no evidence of trauma seen. Small mass in RIGHT nare. Mass associated with caudal MGs. Receiving amoxiclav, nebs, simbadol. Liquid diarrhea 7/2/17 – pt started on metronidazole. S: Pt initially friendly, came over for petting, but would not tolerate any handling other than petting head – put claws out and ran away. Attempted to hold pt still or scruff her for auscultation, but pt would not tolerate it. O: BAR, BCS 4.5/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: Purulent discharge from RIGHT nare, small pink soft tissue mass visible inside the nose just behind the discharge. Clean eyes and left nare. H/L: Sniffling, some hacking, upper resp obstruction. Unable to auscult. Abd: Unable to palpate. M/S/I: Amb x4, dried black crusty discharge on RIGHT medial carpus. UG: Female, large semisoft soft tissue mass associated with a caudal mammary gland A: 1. Mass in nasal passage, purulent nasal discharge – R/O nasopharyngeal polyp with secondary upper resp infection (most likely) vs. malignant tumor vs. other 2. Mammary gland mass – R/O benign mammary mass vs. malignant mass vs. mastitis vs. other P: 1. Add doxycycline 0.5 ml PO SID x10 days 2. Recommend removal of nasopharyngeal polyp (send out for bx) +/- pre-op head CT 3. Recommend FNA of MG mass – will likely want to remove but FNA/bx ahead of time will help with planning Prognosis: Fair 1088

KNOWN HISTORY: Nana was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior in her previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – Wiggly, resist exam of head, ate 2 dishes of canned diet (one prior to and one immediately post exam) EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Nana was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Nana starts to knead and leans against the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Nana remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Nana head-butts and leans in for cheek rubs. She rolls over and continues to knead when petted. Reaction to being picked up: Nana remains calm and allows handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Nana interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
