Spay/Neuter status: Unknown

Basic Information:: hoarding case-no known hx

KNOWN HISTORY:: Nairobi was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: 1/22/18 Subjective: Allowed handling, restrained easily

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 1/22/18 Curled up resting in litter box. Became alert when door opened, eyes dilated. Tolerated pets, but put ears sideways, seemed tense and uncomfortable. 1/23/18 Curled up at back of cubby, behind litter box, eyes dilated (age related?) Shifted in place when door opened, tense. Sniffed treats but didn’t eat. Allowed, then leaned into pets! Needs more time to adjust. 1/24/18 Resting in litter box, alert, a little tense. Shifted in place when door opened, then sniffed assess-a-hand, seemed to warm up a bit. Started to lean into pets, gaze and posture softened noticeably. 1/25/18 Lying down by the back, calm, but starts to breathe rapidly when spoken to and looks around. Grumbles when hand extends toward him, but he sniffs it. He accepts gentle strokes on his head and body, but continues to grumble and will slowly get up and shifts to his other kennel space to avoid further contact. He continues to grumble whenever I pass by his kennel after interaction ends.

Reaction when softly spoken to:: Nairobi becomes alert and remains stiff in place.

Beautiful little Nairobi is an affectionate older gentleman (reportedly 10 or 14) with treatable health issues who deserves a loving home where he can receive the attention and care he deserves (preferably with housemate Berlin). Pledging up to $15 for sweet Nairobi.
