03/12/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/12/17 15:11 Basic Information: Musiu is a 10 years old neutered male orange tabby. He was gifted to his previous owner when he was just a 3 months old kitten. He was surrendered to us because he stopped using his litter box and the previous owner’s 1 year old niece showed signs of being allergic to Musiu. Socialization: Around strangers, he would be shy for a few minutes and retreat into hiding. He used to live with a 1 year old whom he was very affectionate towards. He played gently with adults and children. He never spent time with any other animal. Behavior: Musiu had litter box accidents in the last three weeks under his previous owner’s care. He would urinate and defecate outside the litter box daily. He was not taken to a vet to assess this problem. The owner thought he was not utilizing the litter box because of his age. He was relaxed in car rides while inside a carrier. Musiu enjoyed drinking water directly out of the faucet. He used to get his nails trimmed when he was younger and he was not bothered. He enjoyed being petted. He allowed for his owner to pick him up and would be evasive when anyone else attempted to. For a New Family to Know: Musiu was described to us as an affectionate, playful, and mellow cat. His activity level was borderline medium because he ran around the house in the morning and then spent the day eating and sleeping. At home he tended to be in the same room. His favorite toy was ball toys with bells inside of them. He was kept mostly indoors. He slept on his own bed and never attempted to climb on the furniture. His dry food was always filled and available for him to eat. He used to only use the litter box but that shifted in the recent month. He would use clumping unscented litter. A neat thing Musiu would do was that he would army crawl whenever a storm was approaching because he was scared of thunderstorms. Behavior during Intake: He was very quiet and relaxed body. I was able to collared and transfer him to one of our carriers. He was very relaxed inside and outside of his carrier. Ears were erect and eyes dilated. He enjoyed being petted and tolerated all handling. Musiu was very friendly towards the admission counselor and medical staff.
