Name and A#: Munchskin KNOWN HISTORY: Litter box training: Y MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Tense, body low to table, but allowed all handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 1/30/17 At the back, eyes dilated, almost completely hidden under bedding. Put ears sideways and tried to retreat when attempted touch. Seems to be really scared. 1/31/17 In den today, peeking through holes. No vocalizing, but unwilling to come out. 2/1/17 Dozing in feral den on approach. Woke when spoken to, started hissing. Stuck head out for treats when left alone, hissed and retreated back inside when spoken to. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cat hiding in cat den Reaction to assessor: Continued to hide peeping through den holes. Eyes dilated Reaction when softly spoken to: Began hissing Reaction to cage door opening: Continued to hiss and began growling Reaction to touch: Would not allow access-hand to touch him, began growling Reaction to being picked up: Not tolerating any type of contact ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid, nervous RECOMMENDATIONS: _X_ Placement with a New Hope partner – Munchskin is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat and is extremely fearful in the shelter environment. Munchskin does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
