SAFE 9/27/17 MUFASA is a neutered kitten that needs a loving home asap.

Mufasa A1126306 – 11 week neutered brown tabby:
Mustafa came in as a stray so history is unknown. The kitten had a loose body during intake and was friendly, allowing for petting and handling. When in the carrier the kitten was meowing and reaching to come out, rubbing it’s head against the door.
MEDICAL:
9/25:
Recheck diarrhea
S/O: BARH. Active, allows all handling. No c/s/v/d. No urine or feces noted in box overnight
EENT: Pink mm, eyes clear, no ocular or nasal discharge, ears wnl
HL No c/s
ABD: SNP, NMP
INTEG: GHC, no ectos noted
MS: Ambulatory x 4
UG: MN
A:
Diarrhea-coccidia positive 9/24
P: Continue to monitor while at BACC.
Continue metronidazole
Recheck 9/29
Good prognosis
Fecal flotation yielded a fair amout of coccidia.
Per 1416 started metronidazole 15mg/kg PO BID x5d and recheck in 5 days

Observed Behavior – allowed full exam, attention seeking
Evidence of Cruelty seen – n
Evidence of Trauma seen – n
Objective
T = DNP P = WNL R = WNL BCS 5/9
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: deciduous dentition present
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated, distended
U/G: male
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: DNP- profuse watery diarrhea
Assessment: diarrhea, intact male
Plan: treat diarrhea, fecal test scheduled for tomorrow, monitor for resolution
Prognosis: good
SURGERY: Okay for surgery
