I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 10-Feb-2018, with the surrender reason stated as animal behaviour – aggressive towards people.

Muenster is at risk due to behavior concerns, New Hope Only determination. Muenster is fearful in the care center an isn’t allowing handling. Muenster is being treated for hematuria currently snd should go to a partner prepared to manage medical care.

Hematuria reported by previous owner and noted on intake, no stones noted on radiographs free catch urinalysis sample collected yesterday showed USG >1.050, 3+ proteinuria, 3+ leukocytes as well as struvite and calcium oxalate crystals S/O -QAR, hiding in feral den -lunges and hisses when approached -no obvious appetite, not currently being fed urinary diet -no nasal discharge or sneezing -no urine in box but appears recently cleaned -appears eupnic, unable to handle without sedation A 1. Hematuria, crystalluria-suspect feline lower urinary tract disease P -feed c/d only -simbadol 0.6 ml SQ SID x 3 days, first dose given, used feral den shield -convenia 0.5 ml SQ

Upon intake, Muenster had dilated eyes with airplane ears. Muenster was hissing and growling when his carrier was touched or moved. Muenster was not collared and a picture had to be taken from inside of the carrier due to Muenster’s behavior.

Basic Information:: Muenster is a 4 year old unaltered male domestic short hair that the owner adopted from a shelter when he was a kitten. The owner is surrendering because Muenster is beginning to show signs of aggression towards his young daughter. The owner last took Muenster to the veterinarian about a year ago for a routine check and vaccines.
If yes, Please elaborate:: The owner has started a new job that requires him to be away 3 days a week and ever since then, Muenster has been urinating outside of the litter box sometimes.
Previously lived with:: adults, 1 child, and 1 cat
How is this cat around strangers?: Muenster is described as shy around strangers and generally takes a few minutes to warm up to them.
How is this cat around children?: Muenster is typically relaxed around the child he lives with, never actually playing with her. Muenster did hiss and scratch the child about a week ago.
How is this cat around other cats?: Muenster is relaxed and respectful of the 4 year old spayed domestic short hair that he lives with.
How is this cat around dogs?: Muenster has interacted with dogs from small to medium sizes and he is very respectful with them.
Behavior Notes: Muenster is relaxed during car rides. The owner has never trimmed Muenster’s nails or given him a bath. Muenster enjoys having his coat brushed. Muenster is not bothered when he is picked up and held or when he is disturbed while he sleeps. Muenster struggles when he is being put into a carrier.
Bite history:: Muenster has never bitten or scratched another animal. Muenster has never bitten a person but he scratched and drew blood about a week ago.

For a New Family to Know: Muenster is described as affectionate and respectful generally but the owner says that he has been exhibiting signs of aggression for the last two weeks. The owner’s favorite thing about Muenster is that he is a good companion. Muenster’s favorite thing to do is sleep. When the owner is home, Muenster follows him around. Muenster likes to play with catnip toys. Muenster has been kept indoors only. Muenster sleeps anywhere in the house. Muenster is fed 1 cup of Purina dry food and 1 can of the wet food, every other cat. Muenster uses a hooded litter box with clumping litter.
