MR CUTIE is a 6 yr old neutered boy who was returned to the shelter for owner’s “personal problems”. He is hoping for a new furever home this time.

Mr. Cutie is a 6 year old orange and white male cat who was adopted from the ACC. He was surrendered by his owner due to the fact he was leaving the country and could not take Mr. Cutie with him. The owner stated that he has had Mr. Cutie since he was 3 months old. The owner stated that he has no known medical issues.
Owner stated that when around strangers Mr. Cutie is fearful and will hide. Owner stated that he has spent time around children and he is respectful. The owner stated that Mr. Cutie does not play with children but plays gentle with adults. Owner stated that the only cats Mr. Cutie has been around are the cats outside due to the fact he is an indoor outdoor cat. Mr. Cutie has not spent time around dogs so it is unknown how he will react.
Owner stated that Mr. Cutie will hide in fear. On the way to the ACC in the car he was crying and meowing. When being bathed or brushed or held he will struggle to get away. He also struggles to get way when being put in a carrier. Mr. Cutie isn’t bothered if he is disturbed while he sleeps.
Owner described Mr. Cutie as friendly affectionate and shy with a low activity level. When at home he likes to be in his favorite spots. Mr. Cutie has been given a free choice to be indoors or outdoors. He eats dry food and is very much litter box trained. Mr. Cutie never has accident and is used to an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Mr. Cutie has a scratching post made out of carpet but scratches the doors in his owner’s home.
Lying in litterbox with a low body, ears titled. He hisses when the bear-claw touches him and tolerates petting along his head and body while turning his head to watch and shifting his weight. Begins to growl with continued petting. Needs more time to adjust. Sprayed feliway.

Assessment: morbidly obese
