**Mr.Clarito is a 13 year old altered male cat that came to his home as a stray kitten and was surrendered due to the owner’s eviction.

Hello, my name is Mr. Clarito . My animal id is #14249. I am a desexed male gray cat at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 13 years 1 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 21-Nov-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- homeless.
Mr. Clarito is at risk due to being diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Infection and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other cats.

Allows all handling, slightly tense Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective P = WNL R = WNL BCS 7/9 EENT: Nuclear sclerosis, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: mild dental tartar, gingival recession, pink mm PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, soft freely movable mass in SQ layer at intrascapular region, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Geriatric, dental disease, overweight, mass Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC Prognosis: Good
Progress exam/bloodwork History : owner surrender 11/21- Hx of bladder stones Subjective: Q/BAR, ~5% dehydrated. No c/s/d, one small pile of green bile in cage. Objective EENT: Nuclear sclerosis, no nasal discharge noted H/L: Eupneic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, soft freely movable mass in SQ layer at intrascapular region, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Geriatric Vomiting Mild dehydration Dental disease Overweight Mass- soft freely movable mass in SQ layer at intrascapular region Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC CBC-nsf Chem-nsf T4-wnl Start cerenia 1mg/kg SQ SID x3d until 11/28 Start LRS 100ml SQ SID x3d until 11/28 Recheck vomiting 11/29-consider AXR if still vomiting Collect UA when possible (obese-unable to cysto) Prognosis: Good
Recheck vomiting S/O: BAR. Attention seeking. No vomit seen or reported. Food untouched. Clean litter EENT: Nuclear sclerosis, no ocular or nasal discharge HL: No sneezing, normal RR/RE A: Geriatric, history of vomiting in shelter, hx of bladder stones reported by owner (treated and resolved). Blood work WNL P: Rec mirtazipine 1/4 tab PO, offer variety of food. Recheck appetite. Continue to monitor while at BACC. Good prognosis
Progress exam-recheck appetite History : owner surrender 11/21- Hx of bladder stones reported by owner 11/26: vomiting, given cerenia and LRS CBC-nsf Chem-nsf T4-wnl 11/29: given one dose mirtazapine for decreased appetite Subjective: BAR, No c/v/d. Eating canned food voraciously. Sneezing. Very friendly at the front of the cage. Objective EENT: Nuclear sclerosis, mild serous ocular d/c, mild serous nasal discharge noted H/L: Eupneic Assessment: URI Geriatric Dental disease Overweight Mass- soft freely movable mass in SQ layer at intrascapular region Hx Decreased appetite-resolved Hx Vomiting-resolved Hx Mild dehydration-resolved Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC Move to iso Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x10d until 12/10 Recheck day 7 Prognosis: Good

Basic Information:: Mr.Clarito is a 13 year old alterd male cat that came to his home as a stray kitten and was surredered due to the owner’s eviction.
Previously lived with:: 1 adult, 2 cats
How is this cat around strangers?: Around strangers Mr.Clarito is shy at first and keeps his distance.
How is this cat around children?: Mr.Clarito has lived with children os ages 4-21 year old and is gentle and relaxed when the are around him.
How is this cat around other cats?: Mr.Clarito has lived with a female and male cat in the home. All the cats in the home sleep together and are rescpetful of each other.
How is this cat around dogs?: Mr.Clarito has never been around dogs.
Behavior Notes: During a bath Mr. Clarito struggles and tries to jump out of the tub. He isn;t bothered with getting his nails trimmed and enjoys being brushed an held. Mr.clarito is not bothered with being placed in a carrier.

Medical Notes: 2 year ago Mr. Clarito had Bladder stones and had them removed.
For a New Family to Know: Mr.clarito was described as affectionate,Shy, and friendly. He stays indoors and is feed dry food of the nine lives. Mr.Clarito was litter box trained and uses a uncovered litter box with clay. Mr.Clarito has a scratching post made os carpet,and rough rope.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Allows all handling, slightly tense
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 11/22/17 Lying in front of kennel, holding feet with his arms. Ears are forward. He makes eye contact when spoken to and allows petting along his head and body while leaning in. Beautiful senior boy. Doing well!
Cage Condition:: Cage is recently cleaned
Reaction to assessor:: Mr. Carlito was lying down near the front of the kennel and meowed very softly when the assessor approached him.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Mr. Carlito continues to vocalize and kneads on his bedding.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Mr. Carlito is calm and relaxed.
Reaction to touch:: Mr. Carlito purrs softly,and rolls over on his side when pet along his body. His perks up, continues kneading and is incredibly affectionate.
Reaction to being picked up:: Mr. Carlito is calm, relaxed and allows all handling.
