07/28/17 16:43 Basic Information: Mr. Cat is roughly about 10 years of age and is blind in one eye and starting to lose his eye sight in the other eye. The owner cannot take care of him because her own medical conditions herself. Other than his sight he has no known medical conditions. Behavior During Intake: Mr. Cat meowed a few times as I tried opening the carrier. He is blind so I placed my hand out for him to sniff me he nudged his head into my hand and had a loose body. He then allowed me to pet him and collar him. When I scanned him for a microchip he scanned negative and he allowed me to take a picture.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Hisses and swats once out of carrier and advances towards handler even when not disturbed. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Mr. Cat rests towards the back of the kennel, slightly tense posture. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mr. Cat stands and walks back and forth in the kennel. Reaction to cage door opening: Mr. Cat remains alert but soft-bodied. Reaction to touch: Mr. Cat continues to walk back and forth, periodically leaning into the stroke and occasionally lip licking. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid, Independent, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Mr. Cat may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent
