I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/30/2017 from NY 11105, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Steady VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish ENRICHMENT NOTES: 7/31/17 Under kuranda bed, behind bedding, completely out of sight. Eyes dilated, ears sideways. Tolerated pets, but looked away. 8/1/17 Under kuranda bed, behind bedding, completely out of sight. Eyes dilated, ears sideways. Tolerated pets, but looked away. Crouched at back under kuranda bed, eyes dilated, ears sideways. Held immobile when pet on head, strong eye contact. Flinched, then held still when pet along body. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Mozart remains tense, tucked limbs head down against the back wall of the cage during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Mozart remains immobile alert with an intense gaze. Reaction to touch: Mozart distance increases and stiffens up when touched, but shows no interest with the interaction. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Mozart may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
