MOONCAKE – A1085581
Gone - 8-19-2016 Manhattan
**GONE 08/19/16** Mooncake is a frightened young kitty who was taken to the ACC with a group of cats who wound up being the vanguard of a larger influx…..in short, HOARDING. Yes, they have entered the ACC in successive waves, from wherever Mooncake had been living, and there may be more to come. She has probably not been coddled in the way 4-month-old kittens should be, and she has expressed her fears to the ACC staff as gently–but firmly–as she knows how. Read the notes which accompany her NEW HOPE rating: “Mooncake quickly sniffs the assessor’s hand then hisses, gently swats (no claws) and retreats to the back. ” Mooncake isn’t saying she doesn’t want to be friendly, only that she needs more time to warm up to the situation. The ACC are NOT going to give her that time! This exquisite kitten needs a NEW HOPE RESCUE to pull her to safety tonight!
My name is MOONCAKE. My Animal ID # is A1085581.

Reaction to touch: Mooncake quickly sniffs the assessor’s hand then hisses, gently swats (no claws) and retreats to the back. Placement determination: NH ONLY Mooncake is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
