teeth clean, no jaw or palate fractures appreciated, eyes clear, slightly buphthalmic, no ocular or nasal discharge, ears wnl
open mouth breathing, muffled heart and lung sounds on left side, clear heart sounds on right side of chest, no murmurs or arrhythmias appreciated
right front limb lameness, scapula appears dislocated from body (no wounds noted)
radiographs: right lateral – large gas filled stomach in thoracic cavity, space between heart and sternum
a: rule out hit by car with shoulder dislocation and diaphragmatic hernia vs other
p: administered buprenex 0.27ml sq. continue to monitor while at bacc. will require surgical repair of hernia and RFL. fair/poor prognosis
