History : Stray intake 2/3-started on simbadol for broken metacarpal LFL.
Rads: No apparent fractures of humerus, radius or ulna
Possible complete closed fracture of metacarpal 1 on DP view
Lateral view appears to have complete fracture of metacarpal with SQ emphysema beneath fracture line
Subjective: BARH. Good appetite. Diarrhea in cage. No cvs. Intermittent LFL lamaness but is weight bearing, purring, and comfortable.

EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: kitten dentition, erupting incisors, no oral lesions
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: FI, no MGTs, no vulvar d/c
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, WB LHL lameness, no swelling or d/c, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment:
LF lameness-complete fracture of metacarpal
Prognosis: Good
Plan:
Continue simbadol until 2/5
Start metronidazole 15mg/kg PO BID x5d until 2/9
Start clavamox 13.75mg/kg PO BID x10d until 2/14 for open fracture (SQ emphysema noted on rads)
Recheck daily
Rec cage rest 6-8 weeks +/- surgical correction
