MOMMA – A1072096
Safe - 5-14-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
**SAFE 05/14/16** HEART BROKEN! Momma is an 8 year old brown tabby girl, with the cutest little apple-head. Momma’s previous owner was hospitalized, so her and her 3 house mates (not listed tonight) found themselves dumped at the shelter, with no where to go. This lady is a bit stressed out at the sudden disruption in her routine and environment. She wants attention, as she will lean into petting and lift her little fanny, but is tense. Who can blame the poor love? She’s just lost her home, her kitty friends, and her human friend. Who wouldn’t be upset? Momma is listed as EXPNOCHILD, and needs a new friend who can be patient and understanding with her while she adjusts to the changes in her life. The ACC don’t want to offer her the opportunity to do so, and have chosen her to DIE AT NOON TOMORROW! Please give Momma the chance she needs so desperately, advocate for her NOW! Her last hours are slipping away!

05/04/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Momma looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Momma stands with tail up, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Momma leans into the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. However, after a few strokes she becomes agitated to the touch and began to hiss while she continues to solicit. Placement determination: Experience / no child Initially Momma solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body she begins to hiss at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Momma becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
