SAFE 7/31/18 A volunteer writes: Momma is a terrific tabby with a fashionable fur coat. Brown with champagne undertones and bold tabby markings. Green eyes with a touch of yellow. Momma is one lovely lady. When I opened Momma’s condo door, I was given the Royal sniff down. Several face rubs later this sweet gal stepped into my lap. She adjusted herself several times before she curled up and made herself comfortable. Oh, how I love a lap cat! Momma started to purr and soon my lap was vibrating. EENT: Moderate serosanguinous discharge OD, mild chemosis and conjunctival erythema. Moderate black discharge AU. Clean nose.
Oral Exam: Mild tartar, fractured L and R maxillary canines.
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Soft, non painful, not distended, no masses palpated
U/G: Female, linear ventral abd scar consistent with spay scar
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: Normal externally
Assessment:
1. Overweight
2. Conjunctivitis OD – URI, mild, likely viral
3. Dental disease, fractured canines
4. Aural discharge – otitis vs. ear mites
Prognosis: Good
Plan:
1. Recommend weight loss
2. Fortiflora SID x7 days
3. Vitamin B12 injection
4. Cleaned ears and administered Tresaderm AU as well as 0.1 ml ivermectin SQ
5. Repeat ivermectin 0.15 ml SQ in 14 days
6. Repeat ear cleanings q3 days x3 more cleanings, and Tresaderm AU BID x10 days
7. Recommend daily tooth brushing and dental cleaning
