*** SAFE 03/30/17 *** **RETURNED FROM ADOPTION** A volunteer writes: When I approached Mokie’s cat condo the other day, I thought he was asleep . . . but as soon as I said his name, this sweet fuzzy fellow came right to the front for a sweet meet and greet. He’s friendly with everyone: volunteers love him, and his previous owner told us he’s calm, easy, and quiet. Mokie lived with kids in his old home and got on with them nicely, and he even made friends with the dog in the house, his former person told us. Come meet the gray and white boy with the huge saucer eyes on 110th Street today!
THIS IS MOKIE’S 3RD TIME IN THE ACC – HE WAS ADOPTED LAST YEAR AND NOW IS BEING RETURNED. PLEASE HELP THIS GRAY TUXIE BOY TODAY!

03/15/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/15/17 14:43 Mokie is reserved around strangers and likes to give them a good sniff when he first meets them. He lives with two children (ages 10 and 11) and is playful but can get a little too exuberant for the children. He plays gently with adults. He has never spent time around dogs or cats so it’s unknown how he would react around them. He has never bitten another animal or human but has scratched the children at random during play and broke skin (nothing too serious). Mokie is calm in the car but meows a lot. He tolerates baths and has never had his nails trimmed so it’s unknown how he would react. He does love being brushed and held. He isn’t bothered when awoken from his slumber. Mokie’s owner describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, and assertive (when hungry). His activity level is low but when he’s ready to play enjoys balls, string and wand toys, and catnip. He’s kept indoors only and sleeps on his rug on the couch or the dining room chair he enjoys. He’s litterbox trained and will only go in his hooded box full of clumping litter. He enjoys stretching it out and scratching the carpet and his vertical scratching post made from rough rope. He eats Whole Foods brand dry food, about 1/3 cup, twice a day. He doesn’t have any favorite treats. On intake, Mokie was reluctant to come out of the carrier so counselor gave it a little tilt and he walked out on his own. He allowed counselor to pet his head and neck and to collar him. When it was time to go back into the carrier, he walked in halfway when presented and with a little tap on the tushy walked the rest of the way.
