10/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD

Moccha came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Moccha was nervous but allowed handling. Reaction to assessor: Moccha is lying mid-cage, soft and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Moccha remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Moccha sits up, looks at assessor. Reaction to touch: Moccha is apprehensive, allows petting with a slow approach, but swats when her paw is touched and avoids handling thereafter. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Moccha does not approach the assessor or solicit attention. She allows some soft petting before becoming overstimulated. Moccha is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents with no children who can be aware of her body language and stop interactions before she becomes overstimulated.
