It is no wonder that these girls, these KITTENS, are wary in their new surroundings. Whoever they used to live with, felt they could no longer give them a stable home but WHAT did they think the shelter was going to provide? The ACC is going to provide them with LETHAL INJECTIONS unless a FOSTER/ADOPTER steps up for MISSY and NORIE tonight!

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 03/04/2016 from NY 10309, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-049507.

03/09/2016 Exam Type PRE/POST S/N – Medical Rating is 1 – NORMAL , Behavior Rating is EXPNOCHILD, Weight 7.4 LBS.
Exam and surgery performed by Dr.0962 Feline Spay Induced with 0.1cc Telazol (100 mg/ml)IM. Hydromorphone (2mg/ml) 0.08cc IM and meloxicam (5mg/ml) 0.19cc SC administered preoperatively for analgesia. Intubated with 3.0Fr ETT Anesthesia maintained with 2% Isoflurane and 0.8 L Oxygen flow Routine OVH Ventral midline incision made. Ovarian pedicles ligated with 0-Monosorb and excised distal to ligature. Uterine body ligated with 0-Monosorb and excised distal to ligature. Abd/SC/ID closures: 3-0 Monosorb in simple interrupted pattern. Sterile surgical glue reinforces surgery site. Green-colored tattoo placed lateral to ventral midline incision.

No Animal’s Name: Missy WHY ARE YOU BRINGING THIS CAT IN? Owner cannot financially support Missy and he also does not have a stable living situation. RELATIONSHIP Owner has had Missy since she was born. PEOPLE Missy lived with owner and his girlfriend. Missy did not have any interaction with any children. OTHER ANIMALS Missy only lived with cats that were related to her. Owner would not know how Missy would be around other cats. Missy did not have any interactions with dogs. HABITS Missy was fed both wet food & dry food. According to owner, Missy has never been outside of the home that she was born in. During intake, Missy was nervous and did not want to allow handling. Missy did hiss when attempt to scan for microchip.

Missy came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who notes that she socialized well with her sibling cat. Upon intake, Missy was nervous but allowed handling. Reaction to assessor: Missy is lying down in her cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Missy looks at the assessor, ears flat. Reaction to cage door opening: Missy tenses, shifting away from the assessor. Reaction to touch: Missy leans away from petting, but allows a few soft strokes before hissing. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Missy does not approach the assessor and allows limited handling. Missy is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents with no children who can allow her proper adjustment time to a new home environment.
