*** SAFE 06/08/16*** JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU’VE HEARD EVERY SURRENDER EXCUSE ON THE BOOK…. POOR MISHA had been DUMPED because she “scratches furniture!!” That’s like getting rid of a baby because it cries, OR your husband for being an idiot!!! These extremely ROTTEN owners had her for her whole 3 years of life! Did she JUST start to scratch it? Too bad MISHA didn’t scratch their eyes out instead! They didn’t need to see to know a cat scratches furniture, scratching pad or NOT… It’s just a given! They left her in a cruddy SHELTER that will kill her if no one steps up! She needs an EXPERIENCED hand with no kids! PLEASE, offer to FOSTER OR ADOPT MISHA and PLEASE…. Let her scratch your furniture. And be on with it!!!!

05/31/16 15:36 BASIC INFO Misha A1075778 is a 3 year old domestic shorthair cat. She was a gift to the owner from a neighbor 3 years ago. The main reason for surrender is that Misha scratches on furniture. Misha does not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Misha is friendly with strangers and greets people as they come in the home. She plays gentle with adults. Misha has spent time around a 1 year old. They were kept separated. She has never lived with another animal. Misha did scratch a child in the home. She scratched the child because the child ran by her and startled her, that was well over a month ago. Misha would be better suited for a home with no kids. BEHAVIOR The only behavior issue that Misha has is that she scratches on furniture. she cries when she rides in a car. Misha allows you to carry her, pet her and place her in a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Misha is best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. She has a medium activity level. When home, she follows you around. She enjoys playing with any cat toy. Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Misha’s former owner stated she is friendly with strangers and greets people as they come in the home. She plays gentle with adults. Misha has spent time around a 1 year old. They were kept separated. She has never lived with another animal. Also, best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. Reaction to assessor: Misha looks tense in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Misha remains in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Misha sniffs the assessor’s hand then hisses while she accepts the stroke and began to swat after she got agitated to the touch. Placement determination: Experience / no child Misha tolerates attention and petting, but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
