Basic Information:
Minnie is a brown tabby that is possibly 8 years old. Minnie was adopted from ACC when she was just a few months old. Owner is moving to another stated and can’t take Minnie with her.
Previously lived with:
1 adult and 2 teenagers
How is this cat around strangers?
When strangers come over she will approach but then retrieves to the bedroom. She is relaxed and warms up to new people.
How is this cat around children?
Minnie does not lived with small children but she grew up with 2 teenager in the home 14 and 16 years old. Minnie is relaxed and sometimes solicit attention from them.
How is this cat around other cats?
She has never lived with cats.
How is this cat around dogs?
She has never lived with dogs.
Behavior Notes
Minnie has never been bathed. She is taken to the vet to have her nails trimmed. She allows to be picked up and held and is relaxed when placed in a carrier box. She always use her uncover litter box.

Minnie is described as relaxed, calm and affectionate. She likes to sleep on her cat bed or owner’s bed. She likes to sit on the owner lap and received gentle rubs on her back. She likes a diet of dry cat food Purina cat bow. Her favorite toys are stuffed toys and balls that she chase around the house.
Behavior Notes:
During intake Minnie was fearful and shied away from being petted. She allowed to be collard, scanned and photographed.

Subjective: BARH. NWB LFL lameness.
Objective:

BCS 6/9
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: adult dentition, mild staining
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: FS, no MGTs, no vulvar d/c
MSI: Ambulatory x 3 with NWB LFL, small superficial wound visible on lateral carpi, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment
LFL lameness r/o trauma-likely a foreign body embedded in the radius and ulna
Prognosis: Excellent
Plan:
Sedated with telazol 0.1ml IM
Start simbadol 0.24mg/kg SQ SID x3d until 2/21 (first dose given)
Start onsior 2mg/kg SQ SID x3d until 2/21 (first dose given)
Start clavamox 13.75mg/kg PO BID x10d until 3/1
Clip and clean LFL-once shaved there is a circumferential demarcation with no external rubber band, there are several small holes with mild purulent d/c
LFL rads-circular soft tissue opacity around mid-shaft radius and ulna with bony fragments around it, soft tissue swelling, no fracture. Likely a rubber band embedded in the bone
Will need surgical exploration of the area to remove rubber band/foreign body
