07/15/17 14:56 Minnaloush is black kitten that is possibly 5 months old. Finder noticed the cat with other 5 kittens in finder’s back yard. Park stated that the kitten is fearful and attempt to run. During intake the kitten was fearful but allowed being collard, scanned and photograph.

KNOWN HISTORY: Minnaloushe was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior in her previous home. She was found in the finder’s back yard and stated she is fearful, attempting to run. Although she was fearful during intake, she allowed the counselor to handle her. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – Nervous, vocal, resists medical handling and tries to escape ENRICHMENT NOTES: 7/16/17 Kitten with URI. Curled up with siblings. Woke and became alert when door opened, but seemed lethargic. Leaned away, but tolerated ouch and pickup. Seemed uncomfortable, but too sick to really respond. 7/17/17 Dozing with siblings on approach. Woke, hissed, and retreated slightly when door opened. Allowed pets, sat calmly when held. Retreated again when put back, but then leaned into pets! EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Minnaloushe looks at the assessor with almond-shaped eyes, curled up next to siblings. Reaction when softly spoken to: Minnaloushe looks at the assessor before averting her gaze. Reaction to cage door opening: Minnaloushe becomes alert, but remains in place. Reaction to touch: Minnaloushe was hesitant, but accepts petting and remains in place. Her ears tilt slightly sideways during the interaction, but she begins to purr lightly and closes her eyes. Reaction to being picked up: Minnaloushe remains calm when held. After a moment, she wiggles to be placed back down. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Easy going BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Please note that Minnaloushe is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. She interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
