*** SAFE 07/24/16 ***MARVELOUS MIMI WAS DUMPED DUE TO A SMALL CHILD IN THE HOME – BUT THIS BIG GIRL CERTAINLY HAS A LOT OF LOVE TO GIVE TO THE RIGHT PURRSON !! A volunteer writes: Adorable Mimi, 13 years young, with no health issues, is our Plus Size cover girl. Described as playful, mellow, and having a low activity level, Mimi is truly a special one. Although she can be shy at first, she warmed up to me very quickly and was purring and head butting and rolling around. She is very affectionate with people, and described as tolerant of the other cat in the household. Mimi would probably be happiest in an environment without children, where she can just relax, feel safe, and be the super sized love she truly is. Come see if Mimi is the part of your life that’s been missing, she will be so pleased to meet you. She is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center on East 110th Street. MIMI was used to sleeping with her owner and loves string and catnip toys. Sadly the 2 yr old in the home must have been too much for MIMI and rather than teaching the child to play nice, the cat who was the “baby ” for 12 years got the boot!! MIMI DESERVES A RETIREMENT HOME WHERE SHE CAN RELAX AND ENJOY HER GOLDEN YEARS. PLEASE HURRY AND CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL THIS HEALTHY SENIOR GIRL TO SAFETY!!

According to the former owner Mimi hides when initially meeting strangers. She lived with a 2-year old and owner says she tries to avoid and sometimes swats if the child initiates interaction. She was tolerant with the female cat she lived with. Also, described as playful, mellow, and fearful with a low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Mimi looks neutral, lying down on her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Mimi remains in place, relaxed body posture, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Mimi accepts a head stroke, but becomes agitated when touched along her back then hisses and swats at the assessor’s hand.
