04/30/16 19:07 Basic Info: MImi A1071991 and NiNi A1071992 are both 6 yr. old DSH who are sisters from the same litter that were born in North CArolina. They were given to the owner as a gift from a friend. They are both being surrendered because the owner’s new partner is allergic to cats. They have not been to the vet in the last year and they currently have no known health issues. Socialization: Around strangers,Mimi is friendly with strangers. She has been around children and she is very playful and affectionate with them. She allows being pet and carried. She plays well with her sister and loves to chase her around the house. She has not been around dogs. She has not bitten anyone or any other animal. Behavior: During car rides Mimi will meow/cry. She isn’t bothered by the following: being placed into a carrier, being held, wiped down or brushed. She hasn’t been given a bath, had her nails trimmed or been disturbed while sleeping/resting in a long time. For a New Family to Know: Mimi is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, assertive, independent & talkative (at times) with a medium activity level. When the owner is home Mimi follows her around. She enjoys ball & mouse toys and is an indoor only cat that sleeps on the couch or on the cabinets. She eats dry Meow Mix 1 full bowl a day. She is uncovered litter box trained with clumping litter within. She did not have a scratching post. She knows the words NO(firmly said), sitdown (sometimes) and laydown (firmly). Intake Behavior: Mimi had a soft body & soft eyes. She allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of including positioning her during her photo session. She didn’t seem to mind being picked up/held & was placed into a kennel with ease.

Also, described her as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, assertive, independent & talkative (at times) with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Mimi looks neutral, crouched position at the front when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Mimi remains in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Mimi accepts a brief stroke on the head, but began to hiss and raises paw attempting to swat at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Mimi tolerates brief petting, but may stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
