ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Bold, Skittish MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – trying to flee ENRICHMENT NOTES: 5/10/17-Reported having diarrhea, vomiting. Diarrhea noticed in cage. Crouched in litter box, stiff posture, eyes dilated. Hissed once when door opened, then sniffed assess-a-hand and tolerated pets, but remained tense. 5/11/17- Curled up behind litter box, tense posture, alert. No response to door opening. Immediately hissed and swatted assess-a-hand when offered treats. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Milo looks tense, crouched position at the back when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Milo retreats, hisses and spits; attempts to escape. Reaction to touch: Does not allow, due to behavior. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Milo is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
