As per previous owners, Milo can be shy around strangers but warms up quickly to greet you. Milo has not lived with any other cats or dogs. He’s lived with a 1 year old and is fearful of the child. When playing with adults Milo can be gently and somewhat rough. He doesn’t get bothered when being brushed or picked up. His owners describe him as mellow yet playful with a medium activity level. He likes to play with strings, lasers, balls, mice and stuffed toys. Reaction to assessor: Milo was resting on his blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Milo raises his paw up and lip licks at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Milo rises up slowly. Reaction to touch: Milo allows petting all over with a slow approach and warms up quickly when pet. He closes his eyes and doesn’t mind being pet on his head or cheeks. Milo gets irritated, whips around and hisses when touched on his back and near the base of his tail. He swatted at the assessor but didn’t use claws. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Milo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
