**SAFE 02/29/16** MARVELOUS MILLIE “LOVES TO SIT IN YOUR LAP”…..A volunteer writes: When I first saw Mille my heart just broke! She was hiding behind her litter box with such a frightened look in her eyes. I chanced opening the cage so that I could give her a new litter box and some food and water. She remained motionless — I was encouraged because she did not crouch farther back into her cage. I started to speak quietly to her. After just a few moments I was able to pet her gently on the head and a bit of the fear left her eyes. She started to purr every so slightly. Mille is a sweet, shy little lady who needs a home where they will be patient and gentle with her…..MILLIE looks to have some flea allergy dermatitis which will need some care. PLEASE WELCOME THIS SHY WHITE LADY INTO YOUR HOME & APPLY TO FOSTER OR ADOPT NOW!! If you need assistance, please email [email protected]

02/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Mille does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Mille does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Mille remains motionless Reaction to touch: Mille’s body is tense but she allows petting Try picking cat up: Did not attempt due to her sensitive skin on her stomach. When Mille first came in she allowed all handling. Please note that Mille is being treated for flea allergy dermatitis at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Behavior Determination: Experience Mille was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
