***SAFE 10/18/16*** MIKEY DOESN’T LIKE THIS!! AND CAN YOU BLAME HIM!! MIKEY was found in a building and was trapped and dumped in the ACC. He is a handsome 3 year old tabby boy who most likely was left behind when his owners moved away. Sadly, now he is fighting for his life because at noon, without rescue, he will be killed. MIKEY allowed some petting but he is clearly not happy in the shelter. MIKEY is PERFECTLY HEALTHY but his fear and tense behavior has gotten him to tonight’s list. WILL YOU HELP MIKEY TONIGHT? HE WILL CHILL OUT ONCE IN A SAFE LOVING HOME. PLEASE OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT AND CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY!

10/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mikey was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Mikey has his body lowered inside the litter box and has wide eyes focused on the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mikey hissed at the assessor with ears bent flat and slowly lowers his head into the litter box. Reaction to cage door opening: Mikey remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Mikey hisses and leans away when the assessor extends his hand out. His body is tense and he allows petting briefly on his head before whipping around and focusing on the assessor’s hand. His body rises up and he starts growling as a warning to stop. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Mikey tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
